Information we collect
HoopRead does not ask you to create an account. You can play on the web without one.
You can leave your email to hear when HoopRead launches on iOS and Android. We store that email, the date you submitted it, and where you joined: the home page, the play menu, or the result after a set.
This browser stores your play progress and the email you joined with, so HoopRead knows you already joined. If you opt out of analytics, it also stores that choice.
If you send feedback, we store your message, its type, the page and read it was about, your screen size and input type, and your email if you add one.
We count page visits and play events with PostHog in cookieless mode. Nothing is stored on your device for analytics. PostHog tells visitors apart with a code built from your IP address and browser that changes every day, then discards the IP address. Play events include a few coarse numbers from your progress, such as whether you have played before and how many reads you have played, how smoothly reads played, and the kind of device. We do not send your email, and we do not record your screen.
How we use information

Play progress stays on your device because HoopRead needs it. We use your email only with your consent, for the mobile launch and the product updates you asked for. We use anonymous analytics, based on our legitimate interest in improving HoopRead, to understand how people play. You can opt out at any time. We do not sell your information.
Supabase stores the email list and feedback in Ireland. PostHog stores analytics in Frankfurt, Germany. We handle this information from Serbia.

Data retention and your rights
Play progress and the other data in this browser stay until you clear this site's data.
We keep your email for the mobile launch and the product updates you requested. Email [email protected] to unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We review from time to time whether we still need those addresses. We keep feedback while it helps us improve HoopRead, and delete it on request.
PostHog keeps analytics events for the retention period on our project. Opting out does not delete events already sent.
You can email us to access, correct, or delete your information, receive a copy, or object to how it is used. You can opt out of analytics on this page. You can also complain to the Serbian Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, or to a data protection authority where you live.
